Past, Present & Future

Which do you focus on?

I have talked with many people who for one reason or another are so fixated on past events in their life that they are unable to look ahead to the future. Be it a tragic event, regret, or grief over losing a loved one, the past consumes their thoughts to the point where they are not living their present life to the fullest.

We must all remember, there are times in life when we must let go of the past, for the sake of the present, to enable us to look to the future.

Caution - Speed Bump Ahead !!

The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will.

Pass Go Collect $200.00 !!

Now how is that for motivation?

I've talked with many people who for one reason or another were advised by their doctor to start getting physical exercise each day in the form of walking. Sounds simple doesn't it? I've also heard one excuse after another from the same people as to why they're not following their doctor's orders. Time and time again I hear "I'm just too tired," or "I don't have time" or "it's too hot/cold outside." The question is, are these valid excuses, or a lack of motivation?

Now let's pose a little scenario...Say these people were told that each and every time they walked completely around the block of their neighborhood, and upon reaching their starting point, they would receive $200.00 cash for every day they completed the walk? If this were the case, how many people would find the energy, find the time, and depending upon the weather, pick up a water bottle or jacket and take that walk?

Two little reasons...

A majority of problems in life are because of two little reasons:

1. We act without thinking.

2. We continue thinking without acting.

Now ask yourself if you fit into one of these two categories. If the answer is 'yes', what do you intend to do about it?

Are you ready??

It's time to make tomorrow, today!

How many times have you heard someone say: "next week, I'm going to start exercising," or, "after the first of the year, I'm going on a diet," or, "my New Years resolution is going to be to quit smoking." See the pattern here? People often tend to pick a specific date in the near future to start making a change. Is it so we can have time to prepare mentally, or is it just another form of procrastination? My bet is on the latter. Let's face it, if you really want to make a change, it's time to make tomorrow, today!
